One of the things I have wondered about, is how do artists know which way to turn to market their skills. How does one know how many venues are available to them? Is there a book with an index and a map for that? Apparently there is. Spacetaker as an organisation is diligently helping artists get guidance towards the business aspect of art amongst other things.
I attended the Taft McWhorter Workshop on "Evolving Your Career" last evening at Spacetaker's Winter Street Studio office and was pleasantly shocked that as a successful businessman and artist, Taft was willing to share specific resource details with his class! His workshop was precise and filled with facts. Facts are hard to come by, facts need research and certain amount of experience to collect. And I could tell that the entire class appreciated that information given by Taft.
And I left the workshop with information on where to go next. That, my friends, is super empowering!
